PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope device which can switch two kinds of illumination beams having different frequencies while satisfying both the miniaturization of the distal end diameter of an insertion section and the ensuring of the light volume of an LED. SOLUTION: The illuminating means which is attached to the distal end of the insertion section is constituted by providing the LED chip 17, and a fluorescent body 19 which converts light emitted from the LED chip 17 into beams having different frequencies. In addition, the fluorescent body 19 is intermittently provided on a cover glass 42 which covers the front side of the LED chip 17. Then, the turning of the cover glass 42 enables the fluorescent body 19 to be offset from an illumination front region of the LED chip 17. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
