PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aseismatic latch usable without limitation on an installation place. SOLUTION: An earthquake sensing element 41 of the aseismic latch swings in the moving direction of a drawer body in case of an earthquake. An operating surface 43 of the earthquake sensing element 41 abuts on an inclined surface 62 of a latch body 51. The swinging force of the earthquake sensing element 41 is converted into a force in an orthogonal direction to the moving direction of the drawer body by the inclined surface 62 of the latch body 51. An engaging surface 52 of the latch body 51 projects from a storage recessed part 22 of a case body 21. Regardless of a mounting direction, the engaging surface 52 of the latch body 51 is locked to a locking edge part 77 of a latch receiving implement 71 by the attitude change of the earthquake sensing body 41 in the earthquake to fix the drawer body into a furniture body. The drawer body is not thereby drawn out of the furniture body in the earthquake, and the drawer body is prevented from jumping out of the furniture body. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
