PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high Mg Al-Mg based alloy sheet having improved press moldability and applicable to automobile outer panels and inner panels. SOLUTION: The Al-Mg based aluminum alloy sheet with a sheet thickness of 0.5 to 3 mm is obtained by being subjected to cold rolling and annealing after continuous casting, and has a composition containing >8 to 14% Mg,≤1.0% Fe and≤0.5% Si, and the balance≥97% Al. By controlling continuous casting conditions and annealing conditions, the average grain size of Al-Mg based compounds is regulated to≤10μm, and further, the average area ratio of the Al-Mg based compounds is reduced to≤5%, and also, the average crystal grain size in the sheet surface is regulated to≤50μm, so as to improve its moldability.
