The support runs parallel to the machine bed and comprises two or more tool carriers(3,3x) offset from each other in a lockable roll changing mechanism(2). The changing mechanism can swivel and rotate or moves out horizontally and is rotatable or vertically movable relative to the coating plane(11) of a profile(12) to be covered. A changing mechanism(2) extends along and at a distance from the machine bed(5) of the coating plant and is divided into sections. Changing mechanisms are located on both sides of the machine bed and lie opposite each other. Opposing changing mechanisms are swiveled or moved out horizontally or vertically by a common control mechanism(19) which may be operated by hand or by motor, pneumatic or hydraulic methods. The axis of rotation(9) of a swiveling and rotatable changing mechanism is mounted on both sides on machine arms(7) which swivel on the machine bed. A rotation axis of a horizontally movable and rotatable changing mechanism are fixed on top of or at the side of the machine bed in a slide-like guide. A changing mechanism with vertically spaced tool carriers(3,3x) moves in stages along guide columns at the side of the coating plane(11) either on top of, at the side of or close to the machine bed. Tool carriers of a changing mechanism which moves horizontally relative to the coating plane can be locked in position.
