<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of efficiently printing out print data at a high speed, without causing the image quality to be lowered. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 10 includes a print data detecting unit 14 for detecting print data in the case of printing and a printing direction determination unit 15 for determining whether data are to be outputted horizontally or vertically, when outputting the print data. In this image forming apparatus, the print data detecting unit 14 detects the contents of developed print data, and the printing direction determining unit 15 is configured to determine whether the print data are to be outputted horizontally or vertically, from the contents of the print data detected by the print data detecting unit 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
