<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate improved so as to prevent unevenness from occurring while keeping a high optical compensation function, and also to provide a liquid crystal display device using the polarizing plate and excellent in visibility angle performance. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing plate is constituted by sticking a protection film at least to either side of a polarizer, and is set so that its elastic modulus EA in an absorption axis direction and its elastic modulus ET in a transmission axis direction under the condition of 25°C and 60%RH may satisfy 0.9≤EA/ET≤1.4, whereby a difference between the elastic modulus in the absorption axis direction and that in the transmission axis direction is small. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
