PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a layer picking system capable of deciding destination of residual pallets optimal to the system after concluding layer picking. SOLUTION: This layer picking system is provided with a layer picker 10 for picking a pallet loaded with layered containers and supplied from an automatic warehouse ASRS through a supply line 20-1, a return line 20-4 for returning residual pallets after concluding layer picking to the automatic warehouse, and a control device for carrying out control operation on the basis of a prepared picking schedule to control access to the automatic warehouse, the supply line and the return line and the layer picker. The control device collates the residual pallets after concluding layer picking with the pallets to the number N in order regulated by the picking schedule and not handled yet, and decides destination of the residual pallets optimal in the automatic warehouse and a direct carrying line.
