PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain sharpness and visibility of a display under changing illuminance conditions. SOLUTION: A display control system 10 equipped with a display controller 20 constituted in such a manner that the display controller 20 determines optical reaction characteristics 50 associated with the state of ambient light, and automatically adjusts the luminance of a display 14 of electronic equipment 12 based on the optical reaction characteristics 50 so as to detect the state of the ambient light around the electronic equipment 12 is provided.
