PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel in which hardening (or solidifying) of a sealing material is carried out in a state of having obtained adequate spreading of a liquid crystal between two substrates. SOLUTION: The invention is attained by noticing that the extent of spreading of the liquid crystal 22 between the two substrates 2a, 2b stuck to each other is dependent on the amount of the dropped liquid crystal 22. The liquid crystal 22 spread between the two substrates 2a, 2b stuck to each other is picked up with a substrate imaging part 6, and a control circuit 71 controls a dropping amount of the liquid crystal 22 based on an output signal from the substrate imaging part 6. Consequently, even when a time length from the sticking of the two substrates 2a, 2b to each other to the hardening (or solidifying) of the sealing material with ultraviolet ray irradiation is lacking and the spreading of the liquid crystal 22 is not sufficiently obtained, the control means 71 controls the dropping amount of the liquid crystal 22 so as to obtain the adequate spreading of the liquid crystal by controlling a dropping means 4, the adequate spreading of the liquid crystal is obtained for the coming stuck substrates, and a manufacturing yield of the liquid crystal display panel is improved.
