PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a cost or size of a liquid crystal display device having a plurality of liquid crystal display panels corresponding to sizes of images to be taken. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is constructed in such a way that a first light transmission plate to be a light source of a first liquid crystal display panel, and a second light transmission plate to be a light source of a second liquid crystal display panel with a size different from that of the first liquid crystal display panel are disposed in positions where their rear faces are in contact with each other via an interposed reflection sheet, further incident planes of these two light transmission plates are on an identical plane, and a light source disposed in the vicinity of the incident plane simultaneously irradiates the two light transmission plates with light.
