PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasket capable of preventing fall or twist and sufficiently exerting a sealing function. SOLUTION: The gasket 1 is located in a mounting groove 10 and is compressed to perform sealing through assembling of the mounting groove 10 and an opposite surface 12 facing the mounting groove 10. This gasket is provided with side face projections 6, 7 having a cross section in which, in an uncompressed state before the assembling, a width dimension is smaller than a width dimension of the mounting groove, a height dimension is larger than the width dimension and the height dimension is larger than a depth dimension of the mounting groove. The projections project in directions of groove side surfaces to contact with or be close to the groove side surfaces of the mounting groove 10. A curvature radius of a rising portion 9 on a groove bottom side of the mounting groove is set to be two times or more as large as a curvature radius of a rising portion 8 on an opening side of the mounting groove.
