PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device carrying apparatus having a locking part switchable between a state in which the turning over of a storage device can be stopped and a state in which the storage device can be loaded and unloaded on and from a loading part and manufacturable at low cost despite the fact that the switching of the locking part is automatically performed. SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises the locking part 32 engaged with a locked part 31 installed in the storage device and switchable between the lock state in which the turning over of the storage device can be stopped and a release state in which the engagement thereof with the locked part 31 can be released, an energizing means energizing to return the locking part 32 to a locked state side, and an operating part 35 operably switching the locked part 32 to the release state against the energization force of the energizing means by the retreating movement of the traveling vehicle 9 by the contact thereof with a contact member 34 installed correspondingly to a storage device transfer position X according to the movement of the traveling vehicle 9 to the storage device transfer position X.
