PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscoelastic characteristic measuring instrument capable of measuring a viscoelastic characteristic of a film-like viscoelastic object in a tape-like continuous body, without preparing any special test piece. SOLUTION: This viscoelastic characteristic measuring instrument is constituted of a means for mounting the film-like viscoelastic object on a block having a circular recess or hole, a means for clamping uniformly the film-like viscoelastic object in the periphery of the circular recess or hole to be fixed, a means for pushing the central part of the circular film-like viscoelastic object with the fixed periphery in by a prescribed quantity, by a pushing rod having a disklike or hemispherical tip, and a means for measuring resiliency, of the film-like viscoelastic object, generated when the circular film-like viscoelastic object is pushed in by the prescribed quantity.
