<p>The method involves defining an approximation mode for approximating the rotation speed of a torque generating device to the rotation speed of a transmission shaft associated with the target gear, based on operating parameters and/or driver-stipulations. In a first approximation mode, the torque generating device is controlled by raising or reducing the torque.
