PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a structure for taking in traveling wind in a cylinder of an air-cooled internal combustion engine and effectively introduce the traveling wind to the cylinder to improve a cooling effect of the cylinder. SOLUTION: A cooling space 32 for taking in traveling wind is provided in a front side center of a cylinder head 3 of the air-cooled internal combustion engine. Part of the traveling wind introduced from the space 32 passes through right and left ignition plug fitting seat parts 3e1 and recessed spaces 3e2 above the ignition plug fitting seat parts 3e1 via openings 32b provided in right and left sides of the space 32, and flows along a bottom part opening of a recessed portion between cylinder head cover crest parts in upper right and left sides of the cylinder head 3.
