PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seamless steel tube in which the generation of defects in plating can be suppressed. SOLUTION: The seamless steel tube has a chemical composition comprising, by mass, 0.08 to 0.61% C, 0.15 to 0.55% Si, 0.30 to 1.60% Mn,≤0.040% P,≤0.040% S, 0.0005 to 0.0050% O (oxygen), 0.0010 to 0.100% Sol.Al (acid soluble Al: Al allowed to enter into solid solution in the steel), 0 to 0.0002% Ca, and the balance Fe with impurities, and comprises granular inclusions in which each size is≥80μm by≤100 pieces per 10 kg.
