FLAME RETARDANT SYNTHETIC FIBER, FLAME RETARDANT FIBER COMPOSITE, AND CLOTH-LINED FURNITURE PRODUCT USING THE SAME

This invention provides a highly flame-retardant synthetic fiber, which can highly enhance carbonization capability upon combustion with the addition of additives and, in addition, can hold self-extinguishing to realize a high level of flame retardation and is suitable for use in fiber products usable for bedding, furniture and the like where a high level of flame retardancy is required, and, further, a flame retardant fiber composite comprising the flame retardant fiber and a cloth-lined furniture product using the same. The flame-retardant synthetic fiber comprises 100 parts by weight of a polymer containing not less than 17% by weight of a halogen atom and 6 to 50 parts by weight in total of a glass component having a glass transition temperature of 200 to 700°C and an antimony compound. In 6 to 50 parts by weight in total of the glass component and the antimony compound, the amount of the glass component is 5 to 49 parts by weight, and the amount of the antimony compound is 1 to 45 parts by weight. The flame retardant fiber composite is characterized by comprising not less than 10 parts by weight of the flame retardant synthetic fiber (A) and not more than 90 parts by weight of at least one fiber (B) of a natural fiber and/or a chemical fiber. The cloth-lined furniture product uses this flame retardant fiber composite.
