PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method capable of designing even aspherical spectacle lenses having optical characteristics of being non-rotationally symmetric around the optical axis like astigmatism refracting power and prism refracting power in a way to have a good optical performance in such a manner that the lenses have a good optical performance by causing aberrations which are objects for evaluation to attain target values by simple processing while reducing the designer's burden. SOLUTION: The method for designing the aspherical spectacle lenses, in which at least either refraction surface out of the outside and the inside is non-rotationally symmetric, includes a cross-sectional shape designing process of setting one reference axis passing the approximate center in the external diameter of the spectacle lens and penetrating the outside and the inside and a plurality of planes inclusive of the reference axis, selecting a plurality of cross-sectional shapes of the spectacle lens having the reference axis as one end obtained by the plurality of the planes and independently designing the cross-sectional shapes in such a manner that the optical characteristics are optimized by each of the sections, and an interpolation process of interpolating the characteristic amounts of the aspherical faces between the respective cross-sectional shapes by using the characteristic amounts of the aspherical faces in the respective independently designed cross-sectional shapes.
