PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method capable of inexpensively forming an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a grounding layer with good accuracy. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor includes forming of an electrophotographic layer on a belt-like substrate whose surface to be coated is conductive and a grounding layer in a partial region of a photosensitive layer. The method for manufacturing the belt-like electrophotographic photoreceptor formed with the grounding layer in the partial region of the uppermost layer of the photosensitive layer comprises coating the end of a coating layer of the uppermost layer among layers constituting the photosensitive layer prepared on the photoreceptor and the end of the coating layer of the grounding layer thereof with at least either of the grounding layer coating liquid so as to be given an interval with 0.1 mm to 10 mm between the both ends and the uppermost layer coating liquid by a nozzle, then subjecting the undried coating liquid at least of the one coating liquid undergoing the nozzle coating to smoothing (leveling) to constitute the state in which the ends of both coating layers brought into contact with each other, then drying the same.
