Method for delivering mail (10) comprises allocating a charging area of a packet mailbox (60) to the recipient (30) of the mail using a barcode, and applying the barcode to a notification message (50) together with position information of the packet mailbox and data of the recipient so that the collector is able to collect the mail with the aid of a notification card on the packet mailbox. An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the process.
