A method of treating compressor condensate to reduce the clogging of filter materials is disclosed where hydrogel formation restrictor is added to the condensate mixture. The hydrogel formation restrictor may also be effective to sequester metal ions in the condensate mixture. The hydrogel formation restrictor may be a water-activated chlorine releaser, a dichloroisocyanurate, sodium dichloroisocyanurate or sodium hypochlorite. A treatment composition for use in the method is also disclosed which contains a physically acceptable quantity of hydrogel formation restrictor. |
