FIELD: drawing and sizing equipment, namely for mechanically removing scale from hot rolled blanks. ^ SUBSTANCE: apparatus for abrasive-powder descaling elongated articles includes stationary auger whose housing and working chamber are combined and provided with drive for their common rotation in direction for feeding abrasive powder to working chamber and compacting powder in it. Helical grooves of auger has such small pitch that abrasive powder is not subjected to shear deformation along its inner planes but it is subjected to such deformation only along outer boundary with flat surface of auger as depth of duct of helical grooves is less than its width. Diameter of auger is equal to sum of doubled values of depth of helical duct and thickness of auger base (boss) providing its strength. In inner surface of auger housing may be cut lengthwise slits. Cross section of helical duct may be widened towards working chamber. Intermediate chamber may placed between working chamber and auger housing; its diameter may exceed diameter of auger mechanism housing and diameter of starting zone of cone working chamber. Invention provides elongation of path of abrasive particles on surface of article due to increased number of turns around axis of article. ^ EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of further drawing due to improved condition of guiding and penetration of technological lubricant to deformation zone. ^ 4 cl, 1 dwg |
