PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition curable with actinic energy ray and useful for forming a coating layer having high refractive index and excellent coating film properties such as coating film hardness and scratch resistance and provide a coating agent produced by using the composition. SOLUTION: The resin composition curable with actinic energy ray contains (A) a (meth)acrylate compound expressed by general formula (1) and (B) a urethane (meth)acrylate compound expressed by general formula (2). The terms R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>, a, b, c and n in the formula (1) are each defined in the specification and the terms R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>, R<SP>6</SP>, d and e in the formula (2) are each defined in the specification.
