Disclosed is a secondary battery comprising a positive electrode which contains a positive electrode active material for adsorbing and desorbing cations, a negative electrode which contains a negative electrode active material for adsorbing and desorbing cations which are desorbed from the positive electrode, and an electrolyte layer which is interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode and composed of an ion-conductive polymer for transferring the cations. One of the positive electrode and the negative electrode contains a boron-containing organic compound as a binder component, and the positive and/or negative electrode active material is treated with silane, aluminum or titanium for facilitating adsorption/desorption of cations, thereby suppressing decrease in charge/discharge capacity. Also disclosed are a positive electrode for secondary batteries and a negative electrode for secondary batteries.
