LINEAR GUIDE WITH ROLLING BODIES

The invention relates to a linear guide with rolling bodies (5) comprising two structural units (1, 2) which can be displaced relative to each other and have running surfaces (3.1 3.2, 4.1 4.4) for the rolling bodies (5). Due to its precise construction, the linear guide is particularly applicable for use in microscopes. According to the invention, the rolling bodies (5) are not guided in their direction of movement by the recesses arranged in the running surfaces (3.1 3.2, 4.1 4.4), but by cages (6, 7), said cages being connected to at least one of the structural units (1 or 2) via forced guiding means. In this way and in contrast to prior art, the insertion of grooves in the running surfaces (3.1 3.2, 4.1 4.4) in order to guide the rolling bodies (5) is not required.
