PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-handle cord adjuster for a luminaire capable of easily adjusting an excess length of a power supply cord and maintaining the adjusted state with reliability. SOLUTION: The cord adjuster for a luminaire comprises: an adjuster body 2 mounted to a power supply cord M for electrically connecting a hanging ceiling plug 1 and the luminaire N to each other; and a cover 3 covering the adjuster body 2. The adjuster body 2 comprises: upper and lower cord insertion holes 24, 27 respectively formed in upper and lower wall parts 21, 22 of the body 2; a plurality of elastic pressure welding pieces 28 (25) for pressure welding of the power supply cord formed around at least one of the cord insertion holes 24, 27; and a locking member 29 for causing the elastic pressure welding pieces 28 (25) to be deformed into reduced diameters through a turning operation and to be thereby pressure-welded to the power supply cord M.
