PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projector having a plurality of image signal input terminals and an input terminal detection function in which an input terminal can efficiently be detected by the input terminal detection function and the period of time needed for a user to wait until an image is projected onto a screen can be shortened. SOLUTION: The image projector 1 scans the plurality of image signal input terminals A, B, and C and automatically detects the terminal that has an input image signal. In the image projector 1, scanning order is set in descending order of the number of past signal inputs, or the descending order of frequency of use, based upon the data of input terminal use frequency table 7 stored in a control section 3.
