PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system for car capable of performing the guidance in such a manner that a driver can respond to it well in advance even at the state that a car must change the lane just after passing an intersection or a junction point for running along the guidance route. SOLUTION: The navigation system for a car operates as follows: at the time, for the intersection and the junction along the guidance route, if the intersection and the junction along the guidance route are existing within a prescribed distance and moreover the number of lanes capable of entering the intersection is one, and after entering the intersection, if the car enters the junction while running the leftmost lane it enters into the wrong route, the car navigation system informs of turning direction and at the same time persuading the lane change after passing through the intersection with the image and voice guidance.
