<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems, in recovering lithium where lithium is decomposed by a strong acid (e.g. nitric acid(HNO<SB>3</SB>)) to make a concentrated solution dissolving Li<SP>+</SP>ion, such as filtration of the strong acid solution to remove insoluble residues, processing for preparing a precursor of lithium, etc. <P>SOLUTION: Li<SB>2</SB>TiO<SB>3</SB>is recovered as a fine powder suitable for manufacturing ceramics by dissolving lithium titanate (Li<SB>2</SB>TiO<SB>3</SB>), which is a monoclinic ceramic, in a hydrogen peroxide (H<SB>2</SB>O<SB>2</SB>) solution, stabilizing the solution by adding a water-soluble diligand or triligand chelate reagent, controlling the lithium isotope ratio, concentrating, drying, and finally heating. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
