PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To not only facilitate management and preservation of key information but also enable a user to safely exchange information, by utilizing an XML electronic envelope format to generate one file including key information and additional information. SOLUTION: In an electronic card system 100, an electronic card comprises a card information part including information relating to the user and an encryption information part including information required for encrypting object data to be transmitted to the user. Object data can be encrypted on the basis of information included in encryption information parts of electronic cards by exchanging the electronic cards between a plurality of users, and information is safely exchanged on a network where there is a high risk of alteration, spoofing, etc. Since card information parts of the electronic cards include information relating to the users, the users can easily recognize whose electronic cards they are, by confirming contents of the electronic cards when exchanging the electronic cards.
