PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input/output system capable of effectively and easily confirming a communication state of a network for connecting an image data processing device and a control device.

SOLUTION: The control device 2 and a printer 3 comprise storing means 21, 31 for respectively storing the same test data T to be used in a test of the communication state of the network N. The control device 2 comprises transmission means 22 for transmitting the test data T stored in the storing means 21 to the printer 3 through the network N. The printer 3 comprises receiving means 33 for receiving test data T' transmitted through the network N and comparing means 34 for comparing the test data T' with the test data T stored in the storing means 31. The control means 2 further comprises a monitor device M for displaying a message based on the comparison result by the comparing means 34 of the printer 3.
