PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high brightness light emitting device which is higher in energy efficiency and brightness compared to existing light emitting devices. SOLUTION: The light emitting device comprises a first base plate G2 with an electron source 10, a second base plate G1 having phosphors H1 to H3 faced to the electron source 10, and a sealing member which seals a space between the base plates G1 and G2. The electron source 10 is a metal oxide member with 0.01 to 100μm in diameter of the cross section presented as a conversion into a circle having projections of which length is 0.1μm or more, and the phosphors H1 to H3 are metal oxides with 0.01 to 100μm in diameter of the cross section presented as a conversion into a circle having projections of which ratio of the length to the converted diameter of the cross section is 1 or more.
