<p>An endoscope (1) having an observation means (6) provided at the head of an endoscope insertion section (2), a treatment instrument insertion channel (15) provided at the endoscope insertion section, a treatment instrument swing table (10) for swinging a treatment instrument (54) inserted in the treatment instrument insertion channel and lead out from the head of the endoscope insertion section, a swing table operation section (19) for remote-operating on the operator side the treatment instrument swing table, and a control mechanism (20) for controlling the swing of the treatment instrument swing table such that the swing speed of the treatment instrument head is higher when it is in the center area of a displayed endoscope image obtained by the observation means than when it is in the peripheral area of the displayed endoscope image. The endoscope has excellent operability in treatment performed by swinging the treatment instrument projected from the treatment instrument swing table at the insertion section head and enables to reduce fatigue of the operator.</p> |
