<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonvolatile memory system which executes a bit scanning program. <P>SOLUTION: After a plurality of pieces of program data are inputted and stored temporarily, the nonvolatile memory system sequentially scans data having a value of "0" synchronized with an internal clock of a fixed period. When the scanned "0" data amounts to a prescribed number of pieces, the system interrupts scanning operation and simultaneously programs a group of the "0" data searched until then. After finishing a program to the group of data, the system proceeds scanning again from the program data of a next procedure. After scanning is proceeded to the last data, the system simultaneously programs the data group of data 0 searched until then.
