DISK ARRAY DEVICE, METHOD FOR CONTROLLING IT, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk array device implementing an encryption/decryption process at high speed.

SOLUTION: The disk array device includes; a first interface circuit for connection to a higher-level device; at least one disk drive; a second interface circuit for sending and receiving data to and from the at least one disk drive; an encryption/decryption circuit for encrypting and decrypting the data; a third interface circuit for sending and receiving the encrypted/decrypted data to and from the encryption/decryption circuit; a memory circuit for storing either write data for storing in the at least one disk drive or read data for reading from the at least one disk drive; a fourth interface circuit for sending and receiving the write data or the read data to and from the memory circuit; a computing circuit for calculating parity data; a fifth interface circuit for sending and receiving the data to and from the computing circuit; and a switch circuit for interconnecting some of the first to fifth interface circuits.
