PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor, securing the quality of coating, and especially taking measures for improvement in a compression element and coating. SOLUTION: The conventional hermetic compressor has the problem that although a hole for mounting a glass terminal is bored in the vicinity of an upper lid part, the end face of the hole is an acute angle so that water is liable to enter the gap, resulting in sometimes causing rust between the final finished coating film and the raw material of the upper lid part in that part to be disadvantageous in long-time use. According to the invention, the glass terminal hole is chamfered by cutting the end face part to be chambered. Further, according to the invention, the chamfering shape is achieved not by cutting, but by pressing using a press. Thus, the water hardly enters the lower side of the coating so that the quality of the coating at that part is not deteriorated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
