PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the distortion of a partition wall in an electrolytic apparatus. SOLUTION: This electrolytic apparatus is equipped with an electrolytic cell 1, pipelines 21, 22, 31, 71 and 72, a DC power supply 6 and a switching part 8. The electrolytic cell 1 has electrodes 11 and 12 and a diaphragm 13 and is filled with an aqueous solution to be electrolyzed. DC voltage is applied across the electrodes 11 and 12 from the DC power supply 6 to electrolyze the aqueous solution. The diaphragm 13 isolates the electrodes 11 and 12 in the electrolytic cell 1 to pass the aqueous solution to be electrolyzed. The pipelines 71 and 72 for discharging alkaline water 101 and acidic water 102 from the electrolytic cell 1 are respectively connected to the electrolytic cell 1 on the sides of the electrodes 11 and 12 and the pipelines 21 and 22 are connected to the pipelines 71 and 72 through the switching part 8. The switching part 8 allows alkaline water 101 to flow to the piping 21 while allowing acidic water 102 to flow to the piping 22 without mixing the alkaline water 101 and the acidic water 102 flowing in the pipelines 71 and 72.
