PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation method of an aqueous emulsion excellent in performance. SOLUTION: In the method, a pre-emulsion containing a monomer and a polymer is added to an emulsion containing a seed particle, and emulsion polymerization is conducted. Here, a non-polymerizable substance that can dissolve the polymer is added to the pre-emulsion to facilitate migration of the monomer and the polymer to "a stably polymerizable site".
