PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling body inserting method for a linear guide device, capable of smoothly inserting a rolling body row comprising rolling bodies and retaining members into inside of a rolling body rolling path. SOLUTION: When the rolling body row comprising the rolling bodies 22 and the retaining members 24 is inserted into inside of the rolling body rolling path 20, the plurality of rolling bodies 22 and the retaining members 24 are, in advance, aligned and alternately placed on an alignment holding member 32, with the rolling body 22L in the head. By inserting the alignment holding member 32 into an insertion hole 28 provided in an end cap 10 and by pushing the rearmost holding member 24F by a push-out member 50, the rolling body row is inserted into inside of the rolling body rolling path 20.
