<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that the diagnostic precision of trouble analysis is sacrificed because it is difficult to carry a memory capacity enough for preserving data for diagnosis in an image forming apparatus due to limitations of costs. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has two memories of a body memory 70 and an extended memory 80 as a storage means for storing diagnostic data of the trouble analysis. The diagnostic data is classified to diagnostic base data for specifying basic occurrence causes of troubles actually brought about in a users' use state, and diagnostic detailed data for specifying detailed occurrence causes of the troubles.
