METHOD OF MANUFACTURING BEARING RACE RING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a race ring reduced in weight and having high durability by integrating a race ring body portion with a raceway surface formed portion formed of different materials.

SOLUTION: The outer ring 41 of a cross roller bearing supporting the rigid internal gear and the flexible external gear of a wave gear device in the state of being rotatable relative to each other is a composite part formed of an light alloy outer ring body portion 411 and a ferrous material raceway surface formed portion 412 joined to the inside of the outer ring body portion. A ring 412A for forming the raceway surface formed portion 412 is pre-molded (step ST1), and a powder forging is performed by using a metal powder for manufacturing the outer ring body portion 411 by inserting a ring 412A into a forging mold (step ST3). Thus, the composite part 41A formed by integrating the ring 412A for molding the raceway surface with a ring-like portion 411A for molding the outer ring body portion 411 can be provided, and the outer ring 41 can be provided by applying a post-treatment to the composite part (step ST4).
