PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaning unit having simple construction for effectively activating a photocatalyst supported by a filter, if formed in a pleated shape, and to provide an air-conditioner equipped therewith. SOLUTION: The air cleaning unit 40 comprises a pre-filter 41, a discharge part 42, a photocatalytic filter 43, and a plasma catalytic filter 44. When DC, AC or pulse discharge voltage is applied to the discharge part 42 between a streamer discharge electrode and a counter electrode, streamer discharge occurs between both electrodes to generate low-temperature plasma in a discharge field.
