PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive apparatus capable of appropriately guiding an optical disk inserted from a disk inserting/ejecting port to an abutting part of a rotary member, thereby realizing a stable loading operation and an ejecting operation. SOLUTION: The disk drive apparatus has a guide member 119 positioned in the vicinity of a tip part of a fourth rotary arm 49 and guiding a disk 2B of a small diameter inserted from the disk inserting and ejecting port 19 into the inside of a casing 3 while regulating the height of the disk at which the disk 2B can abut against a fourth abutting member 50 of the fourth rotary arm 49. When a base 27 is positioned in a chucking release position, the guide member 119 is elevated to a guide position for regulating the disk 2B of the small diameter inserted from the disk inserting and ejecting port 19 in a height direction and when the base 27 is positioned in an intermediate position, the guide member 119 is lowered to a retreating position separated from the disk 2B of the small diameter loaded on a turntable 23a.
