The apparatus has a two-part filter (9) introduced between an examination subject (3) and an X-ray tube. The filter divides an X-ray fan beam into two adjacent X-ray beam fans (13a, 13b), each differing in intensity and comprising a common boundary (12) that is orthogonal to a longitudinal axis of the subject. A radiation receiver detects X-rays in the beam fans and converts detected rays into electrical signals.
