<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid determining device capable of determining rationally whether a liquid in a container is an aqueous liquid such as a beverage liquid, or a nonaqueous flammable liquid, with simple and inexpensive constitution. <P>SOLUTION: Wave energy is transmitted from a wave transmission part 12 to a wave reception part 53 through a passage 52 in this liquid determining device 100. The wave energy is constituted of a sub-millimeter wave band of radio wave or ultrasonic wave. An attenuation amount of the radio wave, or an attenuation amount of the ultrasonic wave, a delay amount and a reflection amount thereof are varied by the liquid 32 in the container 31 interposed in the passage 52, so as to change a detection signal 21a. A determination signal 23a determined by comparing the detection signal 21a with a reference signal 24a is supplied to a display part 25 to alarm that the liquid 32 is nonaqueous flammable liquid. The liquid determining device is provided with the usual simple and inexpensive constitution, since the wave energy is constituted of the sub-millimeter wave band of radio wave or ultrasonic wave. When the wave energy is constituted of the ultrasonic wave, the wave energy is not attenuated extremely to allow effectively an determination operation, even in the metal container 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
