PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a long radial anisotropic ring magnet without generating any junction sections and disturbance in orientation. SOLUTION: A compacting method in a magnetic field comprises a filling step for filling magnet powder P into a ring-like cavity 15, and a compacting step in a magnetic field for orientating the magnet powder P in a radical direction by applying mutually repelling magnetic fields generated from an upper coil 16 and a lower coil 17 in which the positions relatively move to the cavity 15 to each prescribed region of the cavity 15 and obtaining a compact by performing the pressure forming of the orientated magnet powder P. In the compacting in a magnetic field, no magnet powder P needs to be added halfway. The orientation direction of the magnet powder P can be made constant from the inner periphery side to the outer periphery side of a cavity 15 or in the other direction since mutually repelling magnetic fields are used, thus preventing orientation from being disturbed.
