PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a standing up assisting apparatus which prevents the feet of a person who wants care from slipping out of a footrest and being sandwiched while moving the footrest in the back and forth direction, and also to provide a standing up assisting apparatus having improved safety. SOLUTION: The standing up assisting apparatus 1 supports the body of the person X who needs care, makes the person X who needs care to stand up from a sitting position, and keeps the person in a standing position. The device has the footrest 7 on which the feet of the person X who needs care are put. The footrest 7 is arranged on the apparatus movably in the back and forth direction and has a guard section 70 on the front or side of a foot resting position 7a thereof for preventing the feet of the person X who needs care from slipping out of the footrest 7.
