The process involves bringing a pressing collar (2a) to a definitive shape by utilizing a single forming process, before the collar is assembled with a nut body. The nut body and the collar constitute a composite nut and are rotated relatively with respect to each other. The nut body has an application zone which is brought in contact with a support surface of the collar disposed in a non-losable manner. An independent claim is also included for an assembled composite nut including a pressing collar.
