<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for correcting unevenness in density caused by a roller having no drive source surely and correcting unevenness in density exactly in the main scanning direction. <P>SOLUTION: Prior to shipping of a color thermal printer 2, test print is performed while detecting the rotational position of a platen roller 18 being rotated as a color thermal recording sheet 10 is carried by means of an encoder 30. Image 40 of the test print is read out by means of an image reader and density of the image 40 is detected for each pixel, and then a density profile representative of relation of the position a heating element in the main scanning direction M, rotational position of the platen roller 18 and the density of the image 40 of the test print is acquired. At the time of recording an image, a system controller 20 controls driving energy being imparted to the heating element such that unevenness in density 41 is canceled based on the density profile stored in a memory 27. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
