<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate burning at the constantly displaying positions by solving the problem that burning happens as the time elapses and brightness differences increase. <P>SOLUTION: The burn-in correction device is composed of (a) an image shifter to shift the image display area horizontally or vertically by the specified amount, (b) an area dividing section to divide the image into partial areas based on the maximum display area of the screen surface, (c) an accumulation processor to accumulate the light amount emitted by all the pixels constituting a certain area for a certain period to obtain the accumulated light amount of each area, (d) a correction value deciding section to compare the accumulated light amount of each area with the reference value to decide the larger correction value for the area, the larger its accumulated amount is, and (e) a correction processor to correct the image data of the corresponding area during the correction period according to the determined correction value to eliminate the variations of the accumulated light amount between the areas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
